Little Kitchen. Big Flavor.
Hi and Welcome! I’m Katy!
In a little kitchen in San Francisco I can be found creating and adjusting recipes, and doing a little dancing. I love to cook for friends, for family, but mostly for fun. Not a professional chef by any means, and actively breaks all the rules (precise measuring? nope don’t have time for that!) I’m simply a fan of food, libations and hospitality. When I’m not in my kitchen, I can be found telling the story of the work of the SF-Marin Food Bank, and the importance of feeding our community.
Raised in Marin County, followed by a decade in Sonoma Wine Country, now rooted in San Francisco, most of my favorite moments include food in some way. Moments like:
Doing the “happy dance” when something tastes oh so good.
Sitting next to a woodfired grill on a cobblestone staircase in Lisbon during the Festa de Lisboa, eating through the whole menu and drinking all the caipirinhas.
Garlic fries at San Francisco Giants games, a family tradition.
The pear and gorgonzola pizza at the tiniest restaurant in Sestriere, Italy while attending the Torino Olympics with her dad and brother.
Picnics at Fort Mason, the Marin French Cheese Company, Ocean Beach and more, where so many laughs were had.
Hosting 20+ people in a SF sized apartment for Friendsgivings and Holiday Parties.
Annual making of limoncello & custom seasoning blend for holiday gifts.
And so many more…
Cooking can be therapy. Cooking is a way of showing love. Sharing a meal with someone is one of the most meaningful experiences you can have. Thanks for following along on the culinary adventures in Katy’s Little Kitchen.
